More than Academics

Your time at GOAL will not look like traditional Year 11 and 12. We are not your average school.

There will be some classes inside what looks like a regular classroom, but you will also be actively learning and actively assessed on your learning in new and interesting ways.

This includes completing weekly work placements and community volunteering as a regular part of your HSC.

Work Placement

Work placement not only provides you with the opportunity to work in a range of organisations and a variety of different roles, but it also allows you to identify where your interests really lie – and you might be surprised!

This element of your learning will build your confidence and your work skills and will ensure that when you leave school, you are highly competitive in the employment market.

Primary School Sporting Clinics

At GOAL, if you’re in one of our sports streams, you’ll kick off Year 11 by getting qualified as a coach! You’ll use your new skills to deliver weekly coaching sessions at primary schools around Sydney. You’ll be developing, refining and growing your personal coaching skills as well as your time management, communication, responsibility and professionalism. And, it’s a really fun day every week where you are learning outside of a regular classroom.

Community Volunteering

One of the best things about GOAL College is that we get you out into the community in a volunteering capacity. This helps you to build your confidence and empathy, and to create connections with people who will be invaluable to your future career. If you’re in one of our sporting classes, you’ll also get opportunities to volunteer at various local competitions and game days.
